2012 Bible Codes - 6th Seal Earthquake

REVELATION 6:12 I looked when he opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood.  13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.  14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.  15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!  17 For the great day of his wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" (NKJV)

In the 1999 revision of the 1886 edition Salkinson-Ginsburg Hebrew New Testament, the phrase “the 6th seal” is החותם הששי in the Hebrew text.  When searching the entire Tanakh (Old Testament) for this phrase at a range of 750-3,600, it appears twice (ELS 772 from Eze. 18:17-Eze. 21:33; ELS 3590 from Lam. 2:18-Dan. 2:15).  Statistically, it should only occur about 0.14 times randomly in the text.  The approximate odds of these two occurrences are less than one in a million.

Here are the two “the 6th seal” matrices:

Another very remarkable thing about these matrices is the appearance of the Hebrew word "earthquake" (רעש) within them.

In the first finding (ELS 772 in Ezekiel), the word "earthquake" appears far fewer times than it should randomly:

In the small section of text examined where the phrase "the 6th seal" occurs, the word "earthquake" should show up randomly about 1,873 times.  Yet it only appears 1,663 times (210 less than it should).  The odds of this occurring randomly are less than one in a million.

In the second finding (ELS 3590), the word "earthquake" appears far more times than it should randomly.  In the text from Lam. 2:1 to Dan. 3:1 at a skip range of 1-7,000, the word "earthquake" should appear randomly 36,364 times.  Yet it actually appears 38,302 times (1,938 more than it should).  Again, the odds of this happening randomly are exceedingly small.

The Scriptures tell us plainly that an awesome earthquake will be an integral part of the opening of the 6th seal (Rev. 6:12).  The Bible codes seem to confirm this scriptural fact with statistically improbable key word findings.

Interestingly, the word “volcano” (הר געש) appears in both matrices.  It seems that volcanoes will be set off by this great earthquake that will signal the opening of the 6th seal.  These volcanoes will belch forth black smoke and spew ash into the skies, darkening the sun during the day and causing the moon to appear blood red at night.

One of the potentially most destructive volcanoes on earth is the Yellowstone super-volcano found in northwest Wyoming.  Recently (from January 15 to February 8, 2010), a swarm of earthquakes took place in Yellowstone National Park, illustrating its potential to awaken from sleep.  An eruption of Yellowstone would devastate the heartland of America, covering it with many feet of volcanic ash.

In the Bible codes, “Yellowstone” (ילוסטון) occurs four times at a range of 13,000-25,000 between the beginning of Genesis and the end of Numbers.  Statistically, this word should appear approximately 0.44 times randomly in this section of text.  The odds of “Yellowstone” occurring four times by chance here are less than one in a million.

A very interesting phrase is found next to one of the “Yellowstone” codes (ELS 13193 from Num. 22:16-Lev. 5:11).  This Hebrew phrase (אוי תשעב הוות ) can be translated as “woe, 2012 destructions” or alternately, as “alas, 2012 troubles.”  In Hebrew, letters also serve as numbers.  The shorthand way of denoting the Hebrew year 5772 (which corresponds to late September 2011 to mid September 2012) is תשעב.

This 11-character phrase is incredibly unlikely to appear by chance anywhere in the Tanakh.  Statistically, it should only occur about 0.04 times randomly in the Old Testament at a skip range of 1-100,000.  The approximate odds of these two occurrences are much less than one in a million.  When factoring in the small skip sequence (ELS 2), the odds become infinitesimal.

This key phrase appears twice in the Torah, in the Fourth Commandment (of the Ten) in both Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5:

Several other volcano-related codes appear near this frightening phrase:

In addition, several specific volcanoes are mentioned in the codes next to this phrase.  These include the most active volcano in the world, Kilauea in Hawaii:

…As well as the second most active volcano in the world, Mount Etna in Sicily:

…Also one of the most dangerous active volcanoes in history, Anak (“son of”) Krakatoa:

…And the southernmost active volcano in the world, Mount Erebus in Antarctica:

Additionally, the signs which will accompany this great earthquake beginning the 6th seal spoken of by the prophet Joel are encoded near the key phrase “woe, 2012 destructions”:

JOEL 2:30 "And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:  Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.  31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD." (NKJV)

Historically, it has been very difficult to use the Bible codes to forecast the future.  Consequently, these codes may NOT be predicting the date of the opening of the 6th seal of Revelation.  However, there are too many statistically implausible “coincidences” here for the information to be cast aside and ignored.  Whatever it means, the information IS there, encoded in the Tanakh.  I encourage everyone who views this data to approach it prayerfully and ask YHVH our God for guidance regarding its relevance and meaning.
